How we approach the site
We aim to provide clear language, readable contrast, visible keyboard focus, labeled forms, and layouts that work across screen sizes. We use restrained motion and respect reduced-motion preferences.
Videos and media
Our video previews have labeled play controls and text descriptions. Players load when you choose to play. Direct YouTube links provide an alternative way to watch and use available caption controls. The award speeches include a short written summary so the central subject is available without playing the video.

Motion and film controls
Our home page includes a Pause motion control. We respect your device’s reduced-motion preference. Films open only when you choose one, with a close button and a direct YouTube alternative. Escape closes a film and returns you to the control that opened it.
